May: Mystery Flower Friend

Purpose: A simple way to get to know and encourage one another through kindness and creativity!
What is Mystery Flower Friend?:
Mystery Flower Friend is a fun and meaningful activity where each woman is secretly paired with another participant to encourage throughout the month—similar to a “Secret Santa,” but with flowers, notes, and small thoughtful gestures.
How It Works:
• Each participant will be randomly assigned a “flower friend.”
• Your identity stays a mystery until the final reveal!
• Throughout the month, you’ll bless your flower friend with small acts of kindness—this can include:
– A flower [real, dried, or even handmade (ie: drawn or on a picture)]
– A short note or scripture
• You may give 2–4 times during the month—simple and heartfelt is perfect!
Guidelines:
• Keep your identity secret until reveal day
• Be thoughtful, not extravagant—this is about encouragement, not cost
• Pray for your flower friend during this time
• All gifts should be appropriate and uplifting
Reveal Day:
At the end of the month, we’ll gather for a special time to reveal who your Mystery Flower Friend was!
How to Sign Up:
To participate, please sign up by:
• Writing your name on the sign-up sheet (in person or follow the link below)
• Filling out a short “About Me” card (in person or follow the link below). Note: Your address to mail/deliver something to will be requested. This remains confidential between your flower friend and you and the women's ministry team. No addresses shared to the public.
• Turning it in by: April 25, 2026 (Sabbath)
Once sign-ups close, you will receive your Mystery Flower Friend assignment and instructions.
Why Participate?
This is a beautiful way to get to know someone better that you may not have known, encourage one another, and remind each other that we are seen, known, and loved.

We hope you’ll join us!

June: Worthy widow month

Purpose:
A simple and meaningful way to see, hear, and love the widows in our church family through acts of kindness, friendship, and love.

What is Worthy Widow Month?
Worthy Widow Month is a special initiative for the women of Corona SDA Church to intentionally focus on reaching out to the widows in our community. Throughout the month, women are invited to bless and encourage a widow through simple gestures that remind her she is valued, remembered, and cared for.

How It Works:
For those who know a widow

  • Reach out to them! Keep them in your prayers! Send them something in the mail, or visit them. We are so happy knowing that the people around you are going to be blessed this month.

For those who don't know a widow

  • Corona SDA Church has a list of widows that would love to be reached out to. Those women may have a preferred method of contact, and to please honor them by sticking to those preferred methods.
  • Contact _____ for someone to reach out to.

For those who are a widow

  • Sign up!! You can either sign up in person at Corona SDA Church, or you can sign up online and click on the link below! That link will take you to a form where you can choose to only share what you want to share - for another woman from our church to be able to bless you and reach out to you this special month.
  • Sign up by June 14-20, 2026 (Last week to sign up)

Guidelines:
Throughout the month, look for opportunities to brighten her day through thoughtful acts of kindness, such as:
– A handwritten card or note
– A phone call or text message
– Flowers or a small gift
– Sharing a favorite scripture or prayer
– Visiting together or inviting her for a meal or fellowship
Simple, heartfelt encouragement is the goal.

Good rules of thumb:

• Be thoughtful, not extravagant—this ministry is about genuine connection and encouragement, not cost.
• Respect each widow's preferences and schedule.
• Pray regularly for the widow you are encouraging.
• All interactions should be uplifting, kind, and Christ-centered.

Why "Worthy Widow Month"?
Scripture reminds us to honor and care for widows. As a church family, we desire to reflect God's love by ensuring the widows among us are seen, appreciated, and supported.

"Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need.” - 1 Timothy 5:3

"Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him – his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling." - Psalm 68:4-5

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." - James 1:27

Why Participate?
This is a beautiful opportunity to build meaningful relationships, share Christ's love in practical ways, and remind the widows in our church family that they are treasured members of our community.

We hope you'll join us as we celebrate and honor our widows during Worthy Widow Month!
